I am overjoyed to be the new Library Media Specialist at Norton Park Elementary School. I have been with Cobb County School District for 16 years; thirteen of which have worked some capacity in media centers at Cooper Middle School, Austell Elementary School, and now Norton Park Elementary. When I arrive each day, I feel as though I am home because Norton Park is not simply a school with teachers and students, it is a family that I feel very fortunate to be part of. We have a phenomenal student body of more than 800 from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. We live by our S.O.A.R. statement and make every day one of teaching and learning. Norton Park Elementary School is an amazing place to be!
My coworker and colleague Angela McDowel are the perfect team with a lot in common. We laugh a lot, love animals, and most of all we love the students. Mrs. McDowell has been at Norton Park for seven years. She is super reliable and is always available to help whenever and wherever she is needed. Her energy and tenacity are contagious and she is loved by all. Together, Angie and I can conquer even the toughest tasks. Where I am weak, she is strong. Where she is weak I am strong and this is one of the things that makes the Norton Park Library Media Center a great place for everyone.
